I learned about Pareja Medical Center through my friends that I work with at work. Both have had tremendous success health wise after coming here and I wondered what if anything Dr. Pareja would be able to do for my 10-year old Autistic son.
I started bringing him to Pareja Medical Center 1 year ago. The change in him from last year until now is tremendous. When we started coming he was almost always fighting within himself which in turn came out on all the people around him. He would get very aggressive and violent; even did some self-injurious behaviors. All other doctors either refused to even try to help him or just put him on so many drugs that he was lethargic all the time. Upon coming to Pareja Medical Center, he went through detoxing his body of all the toxins that were filling it up and was put on Neuro Science supplements which have made a world of difference (getting all the chemicals in brain on an even level). At the time of our first appointment, my son was on 5 different narcotics. I didn’t like all these strong drugs going into his system. Working with Dr. Pareja, we have gotten him down to taking only 2 of those medications at very low doses and we are continuing to lower the dosages to one day have him completely off the narcotics and just on the supplements. Before coming to your facility, I was afraid to be left alone with Levi when my husband was at work. Going out alone in public with him was just out of the question. He sent me to the hospital numerous times because he would head butt me and bite me. He even ran his own head through our dining room window twice. Since getting him on the supplements he as really calmed down and can regroup quicker when he does have a meltdown. Sometimes we can even predict when an event may occur to cause him to do into a meltdown and try to redirect his energy to something more positive. Life at our house may never be "typical" but since coming to Pareja Medical Center it definitely has improved. I truly believe that God as used Pareja Medical Center as a tool in helping us find a way to better manage his Autism and give my boy the quality of life he so deserves.
